Successful pistachio sourcing starts with clear specifications. Buyers should define variety, count, form, packing, documents, destination and quality limits before requesting price.
1. Define the product form
Iranian pistachios are supplied as in-shell nuts, kernels, green kernels, roasted and salted products, sliced, diced, powder, cream and other ingredients. Each application requires a different grade and tolerance.
2. Choose variety and count
Akbari, Ahmad Aghaei, Kalleh Ghouchi and Fandoghi each serve different market positions. Counts such as 18/20, 20/22 and 22/24 influence price and visual appeal.
3. Confirm packing and documents
Export packing can include cartons, PP bags, vacuum bags and private label packs. Documents may include invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, health certificate, phytosanitary certificate and lab tests.
4. Plan shipment and communication
Lead time usually depends on quantity, processing, packing and destination. Clear communication on port, payment terms and certificates helps prevent delay.
